Whoyaon’s Top Rater’s This Weekend!
Caulfield Cup Day is finally here! A few poor performances last start for a couple have got their prices really blowing out as the puntahs lose confidence. However one great run last weekend has seen the market come in from $51 when opening to $4.40, we believe this has been a bit of false guidance to put the import under the odds. Happy we will find a bit of value and a good multi for the members today!!
MULTI: All to win
Leg 1 – Randwick R7 #6 Diddums $3
Leg 2 – Caulfield R10 #3 Nieta $2.10
Leg 3 – Doomben R7 #2 Desert General $7
ODDS = $44.10
High opinion from the stable (Mick Price) has put them together early on in the career and even though it is the toughest test to date for this Pierro Colt. D Dunn retains ride after winning down Flemington at a 16/1 shot. Keen to follow.
Raced on speed on a hot tempo last start and only just got run down by the favourite in Main Stage. If he can settle more in the race and work is own tempo he should be really hard to beat. Boast a career of 7 starts for 3 wins and 2 seconds.
Smerdon gets a smart one here who is a late 3 year old bloomer this spring after an injury. Has great fresh record and last prep put it together nicely. Expecting a big run on the way to bigger races this Spring. Any market support closer to jump will tell if the stable is ready for a close finish.
CAULFIELD CUP (Read The Stats)
A good betting race for the Cup this year, see a few that will shorten up well for the Melbourne Cup if they run well here today. Tough to pick out the Standout Winner so we are looking for a bit of value in the exotics today.
Top Selections To Follow:
#1 Humidor $8.50 – Think his last run has been taking to harshly and has a gear change today to help the laying in. Weir knows how to play with gear so any indication there will see this guy in the finish. Strong Hope despite what market is.
#11 Bonneval $7.00 – Plenty of hype from the stewards this week but she has been aimed at this race a long way out. Bit closer sit today and it will be a different story.
#7 Ventura Storm $10.00 – Loved the way this horse finished behind Winx, Winx form is good form. Is 1/1 at the distance and now gets the chance 4th up.
#16 Amelie’s Star $10 – Dominate Win last start and had the good barrier to help. Today she draws out wide but I think there is plenty of speed in the race to cause a hot tempo and for her to peal out and finish strong to the line. Has great record at the trip so can not knock the form.
Stable is in fine form this Spring and expect this young one to travel well and take a power of beating. Trialled really well and first up kill is likely!
