Gee there is plenty of action this weekend with over 5 Group races in Melbourne and plenty of bookie offers to claim heading into the Race That Stops The Nation. For QLD the weather is fine, the track is good (4) and the rail is out seven metres for the entire circuit.
Race 2 #3 Valfierno $2.80 (Bet Now)
Last start began well, with leaders, 3rd 1L rail early, checked, shifted out 700m, 2 wide 3rd 1L turning for home. Held up straight to 200m, took run 100m, ran on to just miss…Will be better for the run and gee it was a hard luck story last start at Doomben. Has a win strike rate of 38% and top 3 of 63% plus hasn’t missed the placings this season. Top Rated Runner – Win Bet
Race 5 #9 Sir Donald $8.50/2.50 (Bet Now)
This horse is ticking a lot of boxes today in an open affair. Is 1/1 at track and gets a lot of speed in the race to come from behind and be to strong to the line. Distance is no problems with a record of 9 starts for 4 wins 1 second and 1 third plus the addition of being 2nd up today where gelding has never missed the placings. (3: 2-0-1)
Race 9 #12 Chamalu $2.80 (Bet Now)
Always good to see a Birchley horse have support in town. Is one of the up and comers in the race with only 3 starts to his name but last start was impressive when he raced up quickly to hit lead 200m and kept going strongly to hold solid margin to line. Query is 2nd up but ran quick time and rated well with 1 horse already coming out of that race for a win.
