The Doomben 10,000 is on this weekend with the return of racing to Brisbane. We will soon see if Music Magnate can make it B2B wins. The weather forecast is for showers, the track is heavy (8) and the rail is in the true position for the entire circuit.
Race One (12:15) Swire Shipping Plate (Class 6) 1100m:
Back Me: #6 Tumbler $3.30 (william hill) – Clearly the best horse in the race, drops from a Group 2 performance last start where we can forget she went round. Got back to far against the run and couldn’t make ground on the poor track. Is 1/1 at the track with the same jockey Brad Pengelly and happy to take money as short as $2.70.
Race Seven (16:04) James Boags Premium Doomben 10,000 1200m:
Back Me: #6 Redzel $7 (william hill) – Gee his racing in top form at the moment. Has had a recent trial on the 28th April ready for this. Is a noted wet tack runner and boasts a record of 6: 2-2-1 on heavy going. His run in the
G1 Galaxy was outstanding when second to Russian Revolution.
BIG DANGER: #5 Music Magnate $6.50 (william hill) – Going for B2B victories here, after an impressive run in the G2 Victory Stakes just over 2 weeks back he will be going around at one of his favourite distances. Has a record at the distance of 7: 4-2-1 and is unbeaten on Soft ground. If he can get a bit of the wet out of the ground he should have a big chance of taking out the Group 1 again.
