Whoyaon’s Top Rater’s This Oaks Day

What a huge Melbourne Cup day for Loyd Williams running 1 and 2 in the race that stops the nation. All eyes today are on the Purcell trained filly in the Oaks today, the short quote of $1.50 seems the right place for the STAR. Looking for some value in runners today to keep the good times flowing into Stakes Day on Saturday.
Hoping we can back up our form from Derby day, with picking the Merchant Navy, Ace High and Shoals not to mention this suggested  multi that was in the collect.

Big watch on this international having his first run in Australia today. Has some strong form lines overseas and is clearly the top rater in a benchmark 90 race here. Should sit midfield or with cover and come round the middle of the straight and will look the winner at some stage no doubt. Happy to take the promo of run second, third money back in rewards points with William Hill.

 

Race 5 TCL TV Stakes

#9 Echo Effect $4.60 (WH)

Just over raced in the early stages of the race laststart and the winner had the dream run. Stuck on ok and with a better map today in the run should be there in the end. Hasn’t won at the distance but placed all 3 times and no running at the track is always the query here for mine at Flemington.

 

Race 6 Absolut Stakes

 

 

#3 Badajoz $5 (WH) 

Was a horrible watch for punters if you were on him last start where he had no luck in the running at Moonee Valley behind Gun Case. Was held up on the bend out the back and had to come around them to finish off well just 0.8lengths off the winner. Is proven at the distance and has run a close second last time here at the track. Happy to take the each way odds.

Race 9 G3 Kennedy Plate

 

#13 Wrapsody $9 (WH) 

Gee this young filly ran well to dominate last outing at Echua. Didn’t beat much but the way she got on with the job was something to be impressed about, smashed the clock and did it with out being pushed. Stable is low flying this Spring and must be respected. Very keen to see if she measures up today as this could be a winner in the making.

Hoping we go back to back with our Suggested Multi today. Members cleaned up the $54 odds on Derby day and we think that the place multi will be the way to go today.
