Last week was a tough watch and looking to come out this week with some early winners to kick the day off to a good start.
Gee it is good to be back and finding a few winners for our members. We have been on a bit of a spell recently over the Christmas and New Year period which was good to refresh. Let’s dive into the card today and Randwick, Flemington and Morphettville.
Flemington Race 1 – Mutarakem $8.50 – Been racing in good form recently at Sandown and first time at Flemington today. Has a record at the distance of 3: 2-0-0 so expecting will be better on the bigger track also. Shouls settle just off the pace today and happy to be taking each way odds.

Doomben Race 1 – Camboomya $7 – Looking for market support in the opener here today and this young horse out of Spirit of Boom has had plenty of it. Opened at $11 and now into as little as $5.50 on some betting agents, without a trial have to respect the support it has been shown. A huge danger is Snicki Minaj after having no luck on debut behind outback barbie.

Randwick Race 1 – Patron Black $13 – Looking for a bit of value in a race that has many debutants. A couple of these have trialled really nicely leading up to their debut run and expect to see more market support after they go around the parade ring, so look out for that. Patron Black’s trial was ultra impressive to my eye, having a wall of horses in front before coming off heels in the straight and getting up on the line. Expect they will go back and look for cover from the wide draw.
Bet Play: Patron Black 1/3 units win and place. Trifecta with Patron Black, Ruling Symbol and River Bird.
Doomben Race 5 #1 Stella Ombra –Been in tougher company IMO and has an impressive third up record.
(4: 2-0-1) Jockey has had one ride for one win and trianer jockey combo is hitting 24%. Ticks a lot of boxes today, especially with the inside draw and noted on pace runner. HARD TO BEAT.
Randwick Race 3 #1 Kopi Luwak $3.20 – Danny Williams has two good chances in the highway today and the way he raced so greenly and still put them away leaves me thinking there is a lot of upside to this young horse. Down half a kilo on weight, today and will get a nice run from barrier (3) expect him to be there a long way!
Flemington Race 4 #2 Addison $2.50 – Very short but the last start was just too good to ignore. Ready to fire again! What a run from back off a slow tempo last start, I am sure I am not the only one who has found this horse ready to go today and the bigger track of Flemington should see this one prevail!
